There are 16 Pokemon that you can get from answering the quiz questions. Unlike the previous game each of these Pokemon can be acquired whether you choose to be male or female. The natures are different for male and female but you can get them all
After you get your starting Pokemon you then select a partner Pokemon from the same list but you can not take one that matches your type. So, if you end up with Piplup you can not select another Water type as your partner.
There are a lot of questions in this game and you don’t always get the questions you want. When faced with questions that lead to natures you are not looking for try to spread out your answers among all of the other natures you do not want. Once the question session is over the nature you have the most points in will be the deciding factor for which Pokemon you get. In the case of a tie it will choose randomly between the natures you have tied in.

any tips on how to beat dialga?
X-Eye seeds, sleep seeds, totter seeds, anything to keep him from using Roar of Time or any other move for that matter (but Roar of Time is the deadliest). Also it helps to have a long distance move for when he moves away, you waste moves chasing him, giving you less chance to hit him before the seed wears off. Like, I’m a Chikorita and Razor Leaf was my best friend. Also, Oran berries(obviously) and max Elixers since his ability is pressure. Extra seeds are a must, X-Eye will last longest but even those will wear off, then he’ll unleash all his fury on you. Level-wise, I belive my partner and I were around the mid-fourties. Hope this helps, it took my about 8 tries to beat him, myself.
when i versed dialga i had a lvl 100 turtwig (using golden seeds to get him up) and a lvl 40 piplup, so i got piplup to go away using tactics so he ran away while i killed dialga using my leaf storm move. later on i got more golden seeds and gave them to my piplup. ive now got a lvl 100 torterra and a lvl 100 empoleon and im using golden seeds and joy seeds to get a lvl 100 jolteon and a lvl 100 camerupt to have the unbeaten team. :)

i beat him in my first try, but i had lots of reviver seeds (u NEED those) and alot of sleep seeds. i kept putting him to sleep and kept reviving mysefl cause dialga kept killing me lol. i was a mudkip (Belle) lv.41 and my partner was torchic (Ceiji) lv.41 as well.

anywaysss just get some seeds like about 5 riviver 2 sleep 1 stun 8 oran berries 2 x-eye 4 max elixers ( or watever) and learn a long range move like grass : razor leaf, energy ball Fire: Flamethrower Water: Water Gun, Hydro Pump Normal: about 99 Graverlock iron thorn geo pebbles sticks that kind of stuff lolz Electric: a move like discharge.
I beat him at lvl 34 with 1 reviver seed and I did not even use it. I only used 2 sleep seeds.
I beat Dialga first try with Riolu and Charmander level 38 both with focus punch twice that knoked him out

The first time i did it i got Piplup and my partner is Chimchar.
Anyway, how do you beat Dialga?? My pokemon are level 41 and 41.
He’s quite simple, justs make sure U have alot of reviver seeds, and blasts seeds, also a good idea is to have chimchar use mosts of his fire attacks on Dialga, and also I noticed he doesn’t really like water moves…
I was squirtle & torchic, and beat him at the same level U are.
Thats funny my character is chimchar and my partner is piplup.

idk what lvl i was at, it might have been higher than yours
the way i beat dialga was quite simple:
1. use a vile seed (only available in Time)
2. use moves till he dies (I had Ember and Flame Wheel linked)
The battle went like this exactly:
Dialga was not in my (or my partner’s) line of sight so i skipped my turn. Dialga moved one step closer to me, as did my partner, Piplup.
I threw the vile seed which reduces defence and special defence to the lowest level. Piplup used Bubblebeam, and Dialga was slowed down.
I used my combo said above and Piplup used Brine. Dialga used Ancient Power on me and missed.
I again used my combo. Piplup used whirlpool, and then Dialga was dead.
make sure u have at least 5 reviver seeds and for the advantage get sleep seeds and stun seeds then u have to kick his butt and get rid of at least 400 hp then he’ll die or get defeated and if u are killing him a 2nd time he’ll ask 2 be on ur team thats all i know thanks!(sooooooo sorry for the spelling i was in a hurry)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a Piplup named Empoleon and my partner was CHimchar. I used Hydropump and Flamethrower. You need Reviver seeds and in the beginning throw a rock(Gravelerock, Geopebble not Spikes) and for Explorers of Sky, Don’t bring a Reviser Seed unless you want to see something stupid. You get revived, and then you find out that its a Reviser Seed, not a Reviver Seed and faint from laughter. My partner Riolu did that and I called him an idiot.

I’m Chikorita the calm type male. Even though I haven’t awnser truthfully the strange thing about it I like to sunbath like Chikorita. My team’s name is the same one I had before. Team Ace. I partner with Mudkip Since Pikachu wasn’t avalible. Former team – Mudkip me ( awnsered truthfully ) Pikachu as partner. The other Exploer’s of darkness I awnser truth romadom ( mostly used stratgy guide ) I reicved Pikachu again Mudkip as partner. I knew Grovyle was the one who diden’t steal time gears out of pure evil due to the stratgy but these days they really conceal the good part well. It was a good shocker nontheless. The stratgy guide is a good story in some ways if you know what I mean.

I don’ get it why people think its so hard to get Munchlax. I wanted Mudkip for a change because I love Turtwig and Todadile (who dosen’t?) and I got Munchlax like 5 times in a row! I’m on the final chapter and I can’t beat Dialga!! My friend is Squirtle with Chicorita and she said she beat him on her first try. I don’t know if it helps but there you go if you want an easy way to beat Dialga. Now for some peace and quiet….I need to concentrate……….*mutters* ABCDEFH darn it! ABCDEF……G?…..H…ect.

To beat Dialga you need a few sleep seeds,a fighting type move/ vile and violent seeds do a whole lot of help and keep about 2 reviver seeds for him hope this helps!

Ok for anyone that sees this i need help deciding between Cyndiquil or Pikachu. those two are my favorite starter pokemon and i cant figure out which one i want.

Hey peoples I got a Pokemon Mystery dungeon: explorers of time and i beat the whole game already. :) and for those that don’t know theres a post-storyline after you beat dialga…and guess who turned you into a human It’s Darkrai!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!!
Well anyways the post-storyline is pretty good and you only get to evolve your starter pokemon AFTER you beat darkrai in Dark Crater(dungeon)and recruit Palkia and Dialga..Well thats it for tips i dont want to tell ya’ll the whole thing cuz then it wouldnt be any fun……
Ughh I’ve done the quiz 5 times after I reset the data to rename my partner and THE QUIZ NEVER ASKS ANY QUESTIONS where I can select an answer to be quirky ><
I wanted pikachu and when I finally got it I couldn’t choose piplup as my partner why is that?
press A for a random partner and then say no. You will get to choose between 7 NEW Pokemon. Pikachu can choose all the partners except Pikachu. Skitty Munchlax etc. can choose all the partners but all the “you are a person who controls poor Pokemon so you can be awesome” game’s starters can choose all the partners that aren’t their type.

A wondermail is where you get some kind of jobs from the website on http://www.pokemon.com/#dungeon2_main. Go down and you will see missions click on some them you will see a password to wondermail play your game and click wondermail enter the password.You can use Wondermail not with wifi just type.: )

Kinesis when I got the game I started off with Pikachu and my partner was Cyndaquil. We didn’t get far but at least Cyndaquil stopped being a wuss and he kept trying im restarting my game and pick Chimchar and Pikachu. I hear they are a pretty good team (since they are Ash’s pokemon LOL xD)

well on pokemon mystey dungeon of the sky. my partner is a vuplix her name is Teia. and my pokemon is skitty her name is my name Toni. i beat special espiode 1 bidoof wish. special espidoe2 igglypuff prodigy. special esiode 3 oh my gosh scream. special esipoe 4 team cham. me and teia on level 36 and i on 35. when you get to hidden land is very diffcult becasue you be in monster house. it good have grovyle with you though even no you little faint number off the hidden land is 16. to get ruin there is 9. once you get there you se paint off lendendary. liek mew and groudon and kygrooe and . dialga and paklia. once get to old ruin top you the hero. see a a stone. grovyle read it and said palce the relic fragment in hole that will active the rainbow stoneship. just before you do it. dusknoir underling came out off hiding. and guess who show up dusknoir. you go in a battle with dusknoir and sableyes. have reveiver seed with you havd iron stick. once dusknoir get to you throw a sleep seed and knock out sableyes. dusknoir is on 45. and the sableyes on 36. once you defeat him he dont like to lose. he will say hm your weak power you hade now chance to beat him. like i said now he dont like to lose. dusknoir is coward. you told grovyle and your partner to do combintion. you send the big giangtinc shadow ball back at him. your partner goes put the relic fragment in the hole. mean you and grovyle watch dusknoir. dusknoir tell the hero that you going disaper. grovyle told you truth. but since you lose you mermory you probably want remember. you here the rainbow stone ship activing . and then dusknoir made a nosie gwwwwwwah. he stand up and he hit you. he used dark pulse on you but grovyle shield you. when you wake up grovyle is on the ground. he made a noise a charged at dusknoir. he take dusknoir to the future dusknoir say wha. and you said what. he give you the time gear. and when you partner comes down from the top ruin. grovyle was going back to the future with dusknoir. grovyle cant come back. he ask you watch the mhis partner back for him. i really dont like music it make me cry. and i want beat up dusknoir really bad. my friends say i scared . i miss grovyle. you go but the time gears in temporal tower and you battle primal dialga. let me warn you he have iq. meaning you aatck my not hit. after you beat. you but the time gear in clock. yu diasper and your partner was feeling said once then diaga brought you back. after end credit. you going be grovyle the special esiodpe 5 into the future.

Hi again, everyone.My game using Pikachu as a starter and Piplup worked very well,although we kept getting pounded by Ground-type moves in some dungeons.Not to mention dungeons with Pokemon who have the LightningRod ability didn’t work so well for me, but having Pikachu learn Dig and Grass Knot using Wonder Mail codes earlier in the game helped A LOT.Anyway,since my sis accidentally deleted my game and I decided to answer truthfully and go with Cyndaquil(which I got EVERY TIME I took the quiz), I’m having trouble choosing a reliable partner that won’t die out on me in the middle of the game.Right now, I’ve been looking up how well Grass Types go with Fire types when paired up,and many people have gotten some mixed results.I wanted to try a Grass Type partner this time, so I have taken the quiz several times and tried with Treecko and Chikorita, since I’m not fond of Bulbasaur or Turtwig that much.With Treecko, he had low stats and needed a lot of healing(not counting his self-healing moves like Absorb or Mega Drain and such), but once I boosted his stats with the protein,calcium,and iron obtained in the game,he was simply amazing…not mentioning the fact that he kept getting killed by Starly and such:( Chikorita was good, once she learned Razor Leaf she protected me from Water Types through the many water dungeons the game has.And her attack and special attack were great once I gave her the calcium and protein as well, and she’s pretty much a tank when it comes to defenses. The question now is, which of these two should I pick?Sceptile would be good for its Leaf Blade attack and good movepool,but Meganium is a tank and can use Synthesis that can heal itself in a dime if needed,and provides great support in dungeons. If anyone has any advice or experience using this or a similar combination, can you please help?Thanks!
Hello again.I’ve talked over my partner issue with a friend of mine,and she was a Squirtle in Darkness with a Chikorita and said the combo worked very well for her.So I took her advice and decided to go with Chikorita(Leigh) as my partner and of course with myself as Cyndaquil(Sami),and have decided to choose the combination of Pikachu and Riolu in Explorers of the Sky, since I wanted to be a Riolu but girls can’t be it,sadly.I may also be Totodile with Charmander,depending if Grovyle ends up rejoining the team in Sky so I can have my dragon-like elemental Pokemon team I wanted since Explorers of the Sky came out.So far, I’ve spent a few hours on Time and have gotten to the part with Team Skull arriving at the guild,with my team being nearly Level 30 after spending a half hour or more training at the Dragon Maze in the Dojo.I highly recommend training your team BEFORE doing the Waterfall Cave exploration so you have a head start on the game and are more than ready for any tough Pokemon to come.

Ugh,I decided to restart my game AGAIN for the millionth time because I wasn’t satsified with my main or partner choice.
Now I’m stuck between Piplup or Cyndaquil for main, and Treecko either way for my partner.I own both Time and Darkness, but I’m letting my cousin borrow my Darkness so I need to make my choice once and for all and not look back again…
Guess I’m going with Cyndaquil and Treecko, considering I can easily recruit a female Piplup at Blizzard Island later in the game and make it part of my team.The only issue with this is how many Water-type Pokemon rescue missions I get where the client is within sight but I can’t complete the mission in time because something usually happens because the client is wading around in the water.(e.g:surprise attacks,staying in the dungeon for too long,etc.)
BTW,thanks for the answers to the Personality Quiz! It’s really helpful, and now I know the nature values for becoming the Pokemon I want,which will help me get my cousin the starter she wants by the first try.

I’m playing explorers of the sky,so whats a good hero for a partner of treecko?I was thinking a fire type,but I don’t want a fire/fighting type combo and I might go with charmander(love the classics)or vulpix due to the flash fire ability.I plan to recruit a Lugia and make it part of the team later so I don’t want to have two flying types weak to ice,rock, and electricity on my team.
I’m playing as Pikachu(hero) with Riolu, but their stats dont level up so well and they keep getting beat,even at level 26(where i’m at now).most likely i’m going with charmander and treecko again, since fire covers the bug and ice aspects treecko is weak to and treecko beats ground,water,rock,and takes a hit on electric types too.Lugia will hold water type and support moves like safeguard.Recover is also good once lugia is used as a leader cause then he/she wont spam it constantly.i don’t know if im gonna have an easy time getting charmander,cause i normally get treecko or eevee on Sky.

Yeah, get a piece a paper a pencil and like when getting questions answered. If no relaxed write the one with the least amount of points to a pokemon that you wouldn’t mind being that’s what I did it really helped took me 2 tries

Charmander is better, because when he gets better he learns moves faster.

y do ppl think dialga is so hard?i beat him using zero sleep seeds,zero x eye seeds and 2 revivor seeds.i was a charmander and my partner was a piplup.i beat him in my mid 30s.he is so easy!charmander rocks!if u have one,get smokescreen, i beat every boss with smokescreen.think about bosses when u start playing!i didnt even have linked moves when i beat dialga.this is how the battle went exactly:
i used normal attack,dialga came closer,aqua(piplup) also came closer.
i used smokescreen,piplup used bubblebeam,i used fire fang,dialga used roar of time(missed)
i used flamethrower,piplup used water pulse,dialga used dragon claw(missed)
i used fire fang, piplup used bubblebeam,smokescreen wore off,dialga used dragon claw(hit me)
set piplup to get away from here, piplup ran away while i hit him with smokescreen and flamethrower and fire fang
piplup stopped.smokescreen wore off,dialga hit us with roar of time and piplup died and got revived.i used smokescreen and piplup hit him with bubblebeam.smokescreen wore off and he hit us with roar of time again,i fainted and got revived.piplup used bubblebeam, i used smokescreen,he used a move(miss)i used fire fang, piplup used water pulse,i used flamethrower,dialga used dragon claw(miss) piplup used bubblebeam,i used flamethrower and dialga fainted
if u have trouble with bosses get a mudkip and teach it endeavor. primal dialga took three turns with a x- eye seed

I’m a treecko with a totodile it’s like the best team ever beat the game without fainting once. Well fainted yes, but I always take at least 2 reviver seeds with u it helps trust me if ur to low levels
My combination is my Eevee named Neko and my partner Vulpix named Bella! <3 Cute and tough! Altough my game is Explorers of Sky. =P

i would recomend getting a pokemon with lightning rod ability losing the starly and training to lvl 20 :)
I finally get charmander with a partner mudkip,
and if the partner pokemon isnt something you like than hit one and go back, sometimes there are different pokemon, and the partner pokemon can’t be a normal type or the same type as the hero (you)

I always become Skitty, even at my first try and this game made a Skitty fan. Except two times I got to be Chicorita and Meowth (I never got to finish the game as those). I originaly wanted to be a Mudkip, this could help me become one, but Skitty has grown too much on me to do so. But this totally helped my twin to become Torchic. :)

People People everyone says their on lvl 40 something when they beat dialga I beat dialga at lvl 33 with 2 sleep seeds and 1 reviver seed I didn’t even use. I have done this with all of the fire starters and my partner was always turtwig. that is all.

It depends on a few things,such as what Pokemon types you prefer and what pokemon you became/are planning on becoming in the game.For example,I restarted my game on Explorers of Sky due to a poor choice of hero and partner pokemon(treecko and riolu),because both had the flying weakness and once riolu evolved it too would be weak to fire like my Sceptile would have been.In other words,try for a pokemon that covers your pokemon’s weaknesses.Some typing examples are:
Fire and Water: Fire covers the Grass weakness that Water has,and Water destroys the Rock and Ground Types that Fire is weak to,while taking the brunt of Water-Type attacks aimed for the Fire type.Some good pairups for this type matchup would be Charmander/Cyndaquil/Torchic/Chimchar/other Fire Types with Squirtle/Totodile/Mudkip/Piplup.
Fire and Grass:Fire eliminates the Bug and Ice weaknesses to Grass,and takes minimal damage for Fire-Type moves aimed at the Grass-Type.Grass Types kill Water,Ground,and Rock types aimed for the Fire-Type.I recommend this type matchup with pairups such as Charmander/Cyndaquil/Torchic/Chimchar/other Fire Types with Bulbasaur/Chikorita/Treecko/Turtwig
Grass and Water:Grass takes Electric-Type moves aimed at the Water-Type,and Water cancels out Fire-type moves aimed for the Grass-Type,as well as taking slight damage for Ice-Type moves aimed for the Grass-Type.Good pairings for this type matchup would be Bulbasaur/Chikorita/Treecko/Turtwig and Squirtle/Totodile/Mudkip/Piplup.
Electric and Grass:Electric takes minimal damage from Flying-Type moves aimed for the Grass-Type and can destroy Pokemon of the Flying type,and Grass takes care of the Ground-type aspect that Electric is weak to.Both types take out Water,and Electric can take the heat out of Fire-Type attacks(no pun intended) aimed for the Grass-Type.Best pairings would be Pikachu/any Electric type and Bulbasaur/Chikorita/Treecko/Turtwig.
Normal and Water/Fire/Grass/Electric:Depending on which Normal Type is used as the hero or partner(Meowth,Skitty,or Munchlax),the typing between Normal and either of the other four types is acceptable for gameplay,as long as the role of which moves the Normal or other type has.For example,if Munchlax is paired with a Fire-Type,then it could learn Solarbeam or another Electric-Type move via TM to cover for the Fire-Type’s weakness.This also applies to Skitty(Grass Knot),and even Meowth although it can only learn Electric-Type moves via TM.Since the Normal-Type has only its universal weakness to the Fighting-Type,any hero or partner that is capable of learning Psychic or Flying type moves would cover for that weakness.Some highly recommended Normal and Water- Fire- Grass- and Electric-Type pairings would be any Normal-Type with Charmander,Totodile,Cyndaquil,Treecko,Torchic,Chimchar or,Piplup(Air Slash, Aerial Ace,or for Charizard and the Piplup evolutions,any Fly:ing-Type move that deals damage), and Bulbasaur(Resistant to Fighting-Type moves).Other pairs may work,depending on the movesets used the game.If someone playing Explorers of the Sky has a pair of Riolu and a Normal-Type and decides to evolve the Riolu(which is common)which will become a Fighting/Steel dual Type can rule out Fighting-Types by learning Psychic since Riolu nor Lucario can learn Flying-Type moves.
Don’t forget that in Explorers of Sky,the new starters also come with egg moves that are as follows:
Riolu:Bite
Vulpix:Faint Attack
Shinx:Quick Attack
Skitty:Zen Headbutt
Munchlax:Zen Headbutt
Eevee:Flail
Meowth:Hypnosis
Phanphy:Ancient Power
These egg moves may also help depending on type pairing you’re using.
Overall,there are no best Pokemon type combinations,just smart type matchups that can cover you or your partner’s weakness during the game.Just make sure to have fun,and don’t take the game too seriously,or it’ll be more of a chore than something you WANT to do in your free time.Good luck to everyone playing~
I also forgot to mention that if you’re playing Explorers of Sky,Eevee would be good for any Normal and other type pairup in the game,since it evolves into one of 7 possible evolutions that could later on cover for the other partner or hero’s weakness.
Another good type pairup that I forgot to add would be Electric and Fire,because Electric defends the Fire-Type from Water-Type attacks and the Fire-Type can take out the dual Grass types that Electric is umable to inflict much damage on as well as being vulnerable to(Especially if the Grass-Type can learn Ground-Type moves).
Pretty much any combination can work,as long as you either have good moves to defend your partner/hero’s weakness and/or you balance out the types.(This would have been helpful if I remembered that Lucario could learn Water Pulse via TM,to protect my Sceptile and itself from Fire-Type attacks…or that both Poke could learn Dig and Earthquake via TM…)If you’re playing either Explorers of Time/Darkness or even Sky,the same rules apply.Also you may want to keep this in mind when team-building too,such as choosing good moves or typing on a team.I mean,do you really want to be headed for Treacherous Waters or Brine Cave with a team of Fire,Rock,or Ground-Type Pokemon?

In Darkness I’m a Torchic with partner Mudkip. In Time I’m Treecko with partner Cyndaquil. But every Mystery Dungeon game that I can be eevee, its always Eevee and Treecko.

Best team IMHO was Mudkip (myself) and Cyndaquil. Mudkip has both water and ground attacks, which is quite nice, and Cyndaquil learns some pretty epic attacks later on, along with a ton of hp and nice attack.
Now I’m playing again, Darkness this time, and I’m stumped for a team. I definitely want a water type but I’m unsure about my partner. I don’t think it would be quite as enjoyable using Cyndaquil again :P
