When Java was 11, and all her friends had already set out on their adventures, she remained at home and pursued baking instead. One day her pies began to go missing, and after a week of disappearing desserts, she decided to set a trap for the culprit. It turned out to be a very, very fat Bulbasaur who sneaked up to the cooling pie each day and wrapped its vines around the warm pan and scuttled off with it. She followed the Bulbasaur, which was much too slow to run away, and caught it. She shared the rest of the pie with the Pokemon and they were best friends from that day on. When Java decided to travel, instead of earning her way through battles, she opened a small traveling bakery from which she sold Pecha Berry, Dulce de Leichi Berry, and Custap Custard Cream Pies. She soon caught a Torkoal, and after modifying her pie recipes, could use it like a pizza oven for her bakery. After years on the road, Java came across a shiny Linoone and quite excitedly caught it. It proved to be a valuable member of the team, and likes to run ahead of the group and collect berries for her pies.
