yes but this is a special one at level 50 yet dragonair evolves at level 55 so it can be used in the tournaments

This is interesting, indeed. I have never known about these beforehand, so I was rather excited when I saw that it hadn’t happened yet, checking serebii for Platinum updates. (I missed deoxys by two days, which was infuriating.) I agree that this is a technically very useful thing, however, as I have never gotten an event pokemon, I’m not so sure, but I personally wouldn’t use a dragonite in tournaments anyway, and, unless it behaved like a legendary (Could be shiny, could change stats via soft reset) or had set high IV’s, it could potentially be not nearly as great as it looks at first appearance. Then again, never look a gift horse in the mouth.

You can soft reset most all event pokemon for shininess, IV’s, nature etc. I am still trying for shiny Darkrai.

I really want to enter in a tourament, but my teams level are alot higher than 50 so this will be perfect for rebuilding my team.My current team that I find to work quite well and that i’m ptaning on entering the 2009 tourament is:

blissey healing wish psycic softboiled sing
typhlosion lavaplume eruption earthquake flamethrower
garhomp crunch dragonclaw earhquake brickbreake
salamence dracometeor fly dragonclaw flamethrower
dragonite thunderbolt icebeam fly outrage
empoleon hydrocannon surf toxic grassnot

what do you think? i’m so going to partisipate in this :)

The three dragons are a big vulnerability, and you don’t really need more than one move of the same type on a Pokemon. Take out Dragonite, replace either Salamence or Garchomp (I would leave Garchomp in, personally), diversify your move pool, and add some more status effect moves. For example, your Typhlosion (which I would also replace, Typhlosion has a weak movepool) is extremely vulnerable to water, but only has moves that would not work very well. An Ice-beaming Gyarados and a fighting type would easily beat this team.

Good luck! =)

Michaael, I have considered this beforhand alot, and I have made sure it wouldn’t be a problem by challenging many other players online. A good strategy I used was what items I gave them, and the move pool I choose for dagonite and my other pokemon. So far, I have been beaten only 3 times whitch really supprised me, especially since my friend Nichole dicided to use her AR. My strategy basicly surpassed my pokemons ability in battle apparently. So I will take what you said into cosideration, and put it into effect, and battle on ;).

A Yache Berry? Why can’t Nintendo just make our dreams come true by having it hold Oak’s Letter? It’d be like the Special Delivery Dragonite from the first movie. ^^

I just got back from the event. When I went to the video game department, I saw around 10 people downloading. I thought that was stange, when I went to Darkrai, I was the only one. All of them are mild, fyi.
