Haunted Halloween Farming: Rotom

Rotom

I was watching TV late one night and all of a sudden weird things started happening.

CRASH

“What in the world was that,” I muttered to myself as I went outside to see if there was any damage. “A Thunderbolt (Electric STAB, Power 95, Acc 100) must have hit the house.”
When I returned in the house I noticed the television was showing nothing but static. “Turn the TV off boys and go to bed. The lightning must have knocked out the cable.”
“They’re here,” the boys replied in unison.
“What are talking about? Now shut off that TV, it’s only static anyhow.”
“The Rotoms are here,” they eerily replied.
Just then a Shadow Ball (Ghost, STAB, Power 80, Acc 100) whizzed by my head. “What in the …, it’s a good thing that didn’t hit me or it could have lowered my Special Defenses.”
Suddenly the fan whirred to life behind me. I walked into the kitchen to turn it off when the refrigerator doors suddenly flew open. I quickly backed up only to have the oven flash on and open its door.
“I know how to take care of electricity. I’ll just ground it.”
“It won’t work,” the boys replied, “Rotoms have the ability to Levitate and are immune to ground attacks.”
“What sort of Hidden Power is causing this,” I wondered aloud. I grabbed the boys and ran out the back only to be greeted by the washing machine starting on its own. As we were leaving the house I heard the Dark Pulse (Dark, Power 80, Acc 100) of the lawn mower roaring to life and we hurried away from the house as fast as we could. Looking back at the flashing lights within the house, even though I have a Modest (+ SpAtt, -Att) nature, I thought to myself, “Man that paint job sure makes the house look better.”

When we returned the next day the house appeared normal. No mysterious appliances running amok.
“Where are they boys? Can you tell?”, I asked.
“They’ve gone into the wifi. But they’ll be back”
“When?”
Thursday, October 30th at 4-6 PM CST (5-7 PM Eastern, 2-4 PM Pacific time, 9PM British)

If you have a unearthly desire to see these shocking sights for yourself, be in the wifi room to receive your very own Rotom holding a special Halloween treat.

Haunted Halloween Farming: Mismagius

EEEEEEEEEEEEK!
The shrill screech reverberated throughout the forest
As I called back my fainted Starmie, nana nettie’s words of warning echoed in my mind. “Be careful in the forest. There are a lot of hazards there, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes and plant pokémon that will Wrap you and Leech Seed away all your HP.”
I remembered chuckling and reassuring her that I had my team of Rapid Spinners and I was only going into the forest for a little while to look for mushrooms and rare berries and for her not to worry. The Shadow Ball (Ghost, STAB Power 80, Acc 100) came out of the darkness of the forest and hit my Starmie before I could do anything but rapid spin the first hazard.
I tried to keep a Calm Mind (raises both Special Attack and Special Defense one stage, 50%), but I could sense its ghostly presence even before the next screech rung through the forest. I called out my Tentacruel knowing that it could knock away the Toxic Spikes before me but as soon as it showed up a Psychic (Psychic, Power 90, Acc 100) attack knocked it down and lowered its special defense.
I called on my Blastoise only to have it struck by a Thunderbolt (Electric, Power 95, Acc 100). I knew my Kabutops or Cloyster would not fare much better. Hitmontop would not survive a psychic attack nor would my Claydoll be able to absorb a Shadow Ball from this malevolent being.
I was left with only one spinner, my trusty Donphan. Its rapid spinning had no effect on this Ghostly specter so I commanded him to let loose one of his powerful Earthquakes. To my surprise it had no effect on it either. The being seemed to Levitate in midair.
It apparated before me to finally reveal itself to be a Misdreavus and it cackled another screech and said “Not be Modest (+ SpAttack, -Attack) but if I could only get a Dusk Stone, I could then learn Energy Ball and even your Donphan would not survive.”

Well, I just happen to have some of these Dusk Stones and if you would like one of these mysterious phantom pokemon, be in the wifi room on Wednesday October 21st at 5:30 PM Pacific time (8:30 PM Eastern time)

Looking for Darkrai?

April 20, 2008 | 28 Comments

Darkrai

It has just been revealed that participating Toys”R”Us stores will be holding a Darkrai event to coincide with the release of the DVD “Pokemon: The Rise of Darkrai”.

It has long been assumed that the event would occur at stores once the DVD was released in the US and now it has been confirmed.

The event will occur on May 31st and June 1st from noon to 4PM. No word on if this will be like the Manaphy event or if you will be getting the event trigger item to unlock Darkrai in your copy of Diamond or Pearl.

Halloween Pokemon Farming Edition: Duskull

October 30, 2007 | 56 Comments

Greetings and welcome to the special Halloween night haunted farming event! Haunted….with the ghosts of Duskull!

Duskull, and his evolution Dusclops, are one of several Pokes that earned a new evolution the generation. With a Reaper Cloth attached (found on Route 229), Dusclops will evolve into Dusknoir. All have pretty decent defense stats but not so fantastic speed stats. Duskull has the ability Levitate, which prevent damage from ground type moves. When it evolves though, both evolutions have the ability Pressure which causes a foe to use 2 pp of a move rather that one when it is hit.

These specially prepared Duskulls come with a mean moveset

  • Shadow Ball
  • Dark Pulse
  • Psychic
  • Will-o-Wisp

So do you want one of these SPOOOOOKY Duskulls? Here’s what you do:

  • Comment with your Name and Friend Code
    • Even if we have traded before, I need your information again!
  • Get a Pokemon to trade (preferably non-Sinnoh, though I will take anything, items are always appreciated!)
  • Be in the Wi-Fi zone at 8pm EDT on October 31(Wednesday)
  • Make yourself available to Trade (Invite–>Trade) I will come to you when I’m ready.

Pokemon Farming: Spiritomb

June 21, 2007 | 131 Comments

SpiritombSpiritomb is one of the new Pokemon from the Diamond and Pearl games. It is of the Dark/Ghost type. It suffers with a problem of having a complex catching method. This makes Spiritomb a very useful Pokemon, if only it were easier to catch!

To catch a Spiritomb you need to use an Odd Keystone and talk to 32 people in the Sinnoh Underground. You can dig up the Odd Keystone in the Sinnoh Underground and you can also talk to your friends 32 times.

By placing the Odd Keystone in the well on Route 209 you will activate the Spiritomb event.

You then need to go to the Sinnoh Underground and talk to 32 People. These must be real people and not hikers. If you don’t know 32 people you can just hop in and out of the Sinnoh Underground and talk to the same person 32 times.

After you have talked to the 32 people just head back to the well and meet up with a Spiritomb. It will not be that strong so try not to knock it out. If you do knock it out you need to find another Odd Keystone and repeat.

Because the method of catching a Spiritomb is so hard and finding one on GTS (who is not looking for a Palkia/Dialga) is so hard I’m offering them up in this edition of Pokemon Farming!

I’m adding a few special rules to this offerring because things have gotten hectic in the past:

Rules
1. I don’t care what you trade me though I would prefer a non-Sinnoh Pokemon.
2. The Pokemon you trade to me must be holding something.
3. I prefer berries over all other items.
4. The only exception to berries are the two items that Magby/Elekid hold when caught in the wild.
5. For berries I need: 37 - 39, 41-49, 52, 60+. Yes, I know I got some of these on Monday but the plants have not produced berries yet and I did not write down their ID numbers.
6. You may also ask for one starter Pokemon as a secondary trade.
7. When you leave your information in the comments below your trainer name must be correct. When I do the trading I refer to the comments on the site to see who gets what.
8. When you enter the Wi-Fi zone select the trade option and wait for me to select you.
9. If you can, be early. I am sometimes on early.
10. Don’t be afraid to trade amongst yourselves.
