Shiny Pichu Event Coming to Gamestop
January 14, 2010

The next event has been announced in preparation for the upcoming release of HeartGold and SoulSilver. It will be a Shiny Pichu that will trigger an event in those games that will allow you to befriend a Spiky-Eared Pichu in Ilex Forest at the Celebi Shrine. A Shiny Pichu is darker colored than a normal one, similar to a Pikachu. These will be given away at Gamestops in the U.S. and Puerto Rico from January 30th to February 14th, 2010. Click here to find the location of the nearest Gamestop to you. These Pichus will be at level 30 and will be holding an Everstone that will keep them from evolving. They will come with a Classic Ribbon and know the following moves:
Charge
Volt Tackle
Endure
Endeavor
The Spiky-Eared Pichu will also be at level 30 and will be holding a Zap Plate and know these moves:
Volt Tackle
Helping Hand
Swagger
Pain Split
- As per usual you will need to have:
- Room for the wonder card (can’t have more than three)
- A North American version of Diamond, Pearl or Platinum and a DS
- Have obtained the Pokedex
Remember, you can only get one shiny Pichu per game chip. You can, however, trade them to another game and restart your game thus allowing you to get as many Pichus as you can want if you are willing to grind through the intro part of the game over and over again.
Stay tuned as a Jirachi Event should follow this one as we near the March 14th release date of HeartGold and SoulSilver!

I went to gamestop and there was a flyer that said there would be celebi event from 2/27-3/3.
Actually it is a Jirachi that will be given away February 27 to March 13, 2010 at Gamestops in the US and Puerto Rico. As expected it will be given out to Platinum, Diamond and Pearl gamers before the release of HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Similar to the Nintendo Zone Jirachi released in Japan, it will unlock new areas in HeartGold and SoulSilver. Click here for more details
