Reporting from the Manaphy event

What an amazing day! I took my daughter and one of her friends with me when we made the trip down. After a 45 minute drive we arrived!
When we entered the store we saw a small collection of Pokemon toys. A few steps later and we were in the video game section where a small crowd of Pokemon players had already gathered.
There were a lot of kids there for the event and a few adults. Like me, those adults “claimed” to be there to get the Pokemon because their kids could not make it. After a few minutes of talking it quickly became apparent which adults were there for their kids and which were their for themselves!
After downloading Manaphy into my two game cartridges I talked to some of the others who were there doing trades. I managed to trade about 30 Pokemon all told. I cleaned out all of my leftover Totodiles and Gibles today! i also traded away a few other Pokemon that were in demand that I knew I could easily replace (Elekid, Lugia, Piplup).
While trading the two kids I brought with me were spreading the word about PokeFarm among all the other kids there. So, if this is your first visit to the farm then I bid you welcome!
Because I acquired a second Manaphy I will be giving the extra one away in a contest.
Because there are so many Pokemon fans in my area I’m going to be going forward with a plan to host some local Pokemon events at a wired cafe near me.

I am also back from getting a Manaphy. My son and I were in the second group for the download and all went very smoothly. We arrived about 15 minutes early. When we were leaving, I noticed that the line had grown to over 100, so TRU will probably have a very busy day. Just in the first two groups were 3 kids that did not have Mystery Gift. So, I helped them activate and they were ready to go. Maaphy is very cute, however my son kept saying, “but I really want a Darkrai” Next event.

I hope you don’t mind, but while I was looking for a copy of Pokemon Diamond a young boy was telling me about the Manaphy Event going on. I told him I already had my Manaphy. I also told people about the site. I told just about every parent that was there and had a very good reaction from them about the site. Of course I told them to make sure they check out the C.W.A. Stables. I am excited to see after your day at the Manaphy Event and spreading the word on PokeFarm.com, and I am sure that other members of the forum did as well, how many new members come to the site.
One quick thought. You said about giving the second Manaphy away as a gift. I remember reading some of the Event Pokemon can’t be traded and I thought it was the Cherish ball they came in, but I believe it is Classic Ribbon that keeps them from being traded. Also it could just be that it keeps them from being traded on the GTS system.
The download was fast. No one was at my toysrus it was a bunch of older kids
To re-iterate Manphy can’t be traded on the GTS. As Buzz said it is because of the classic ribbon. I know i tired. However it can be link traded.
The event was a great success in my locale, but the technologically terrified didn’t understand you could grab the Manaphy anywhere at anytime. On a side note I was the first to get one in my area.
Thank you Nikola, I was not completely sure if the Classic Ribbon kept if from being link traded. The Toys R’ Us in my area was packed. I told my wife I wanted to leave early and of course she was late. Last year at Mew it was terrible. I got there 2 hours early and was still in the middle of the line. This year I walked into the store at 12:10 and had my Manaphy at 12:15 he-he. A lady asked when I was done where the line started and I told her to take her kids up and just download and she looked at me like I was crazy. But some other group of kids told them to get back in line and then she really gave me dagger eyes. It is a wireless download, no line needed, basicly took 2 minutes to download Manaphy. Then about 3 minutes to restart and go to the PokeMart.
I was at the Mew event last year with a different batch of my daughter’s friends. That event was murder because it involved the link cable and tons of very young kids with clueless parents.

I forgot about the event, and this post prompted me to get my own Manaphy. The event was so easy! I love the wireless capability of the DS.
I am an adult player as well, so it really helped out that you don’t have to actually line up and download the Pokemon by handing your cartridge to someone else. =)
Can you please tell me some more about the Manaphy Contest?!
Lugia is easy to get?? I may have to bug you for that one sometime..
I went at my store here.. liek 2 mins form my house.. when I got there was only like 2 other people..
Lil paper thing they gave out had the password for the Electivire from PBR in it.. said there would be a new code next month..
I hope all these are not done as wondercards.. You can only have 3 wondercard Pokemon and now I have 2.. Manaphy and Electivire. I have the Manaphy from Pokemon Ranger also..
You can delete the wonder cards. So no worries. The Manaphy event said you could not have 2 wonder cards but I already did from PBR. So I deleted them and all was good.

I am happy to say that was my first ever pokemon event. I enjoyed it. I am so lucky that I live five miles away. I got my manaphy and my favorite pokemon Mew. I traded one of my many level 100 Rayquaza’s for it. Now that I have my mew Im training him and my favorite pokemon party. I am looking forward to getting a Darkrai, Arceus or the items to get them. I like this website because it’s up to date.

Hey, i got manaphy from pokemon ranger. Is lugia easy to get? I have some mews, arceus and darkais i trade… I dont want them, so who wants to trade… awww DX i need regirock, regice and registeel to get regiras or regigrass… i forgot the name, it was the grass typed regi.
