Pokemon RPG Coming to Wii?
October 21, 2007
If you were at “E for All” last week you might have encountered a certain Pokemon Company developer who stated that they are working on an RPG Pokemon title for the Wii. No details have been released about this new game so we do not know if it will be a new region of the Pokemon world or based in one of the existing regions.
Long Time Pokemon players will note that the Game Cube Pokemon games did not introduce any new Pokemon but were both placed in the same region, a region where wild Pokemon were extremely rare.
Some people have been speculating a remake of the Johto based games for the DS since before Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were released. I would love to see the Jhoto games remade for the DS. I greatly enjoyed the Leaf Green and Fire Red remakes for the GBA so who knows.
This Pokemon Company developer also stated that the reason there has not been a Pokemon RPG game on the Wii yet is due to Nintendo’s desire to focus on the community aspects of Pokemon. The new DS games have brought this to the for front with Internet battling and trading. Just take a quick look at our forum and you will see what I mean. The secondary reason has been that Nintendo wanted to keep the line on their most popular platform; the portables.
Many gamers were disappointed (myself included) at the lack of an RPG in the recently released Pokemon Battle Revolution game for Wii. If Nintendo makes up for this by releasing a new Pokemon RPG game for the Wii I will be happy.

cool info but u spelt johto wrong lol
no he/she didn’t. u did lol
I’m sorry, but he’s right. It’s Johto.
funny how every post on the main page seems to have a link to the forums… :P
and this’ll be pretty sweet if they release it.
What would they call a remake of Gold and Silver?I have always thought about it! Platnuim and Sunshine-maybe!
Could this possibly be the 3rd version of the D/P generation of games? (ie Crystal/Emerald)?
That would be insanely good with some unlockables that involved DS interaction or something. I mean there is sooo much they could to with DS/Wii interaction and have it affect gameplay.
Amirite?
you could control the player using the ds touch screen. And watch the tv screen.
Yeah i think that it would be a good idea to introduce an ‘anytime release’ pokemon system, where the player can release a pokemon even outside of a battle and take control of it,ie,uses it’s abilities to overcome obsticals and use broad evasions, attacks and use of enviromentss in battles,eg, climb up a tree.I’m looking forward to it.
yeah thats a great idea i have been thinking of pokemon rpg ideas for a while and that was one of them.
having a realtime rpg game with third person view or the ability to change views. using the wimote to chuck your selected pokeball out at anytime then taking control of that pokemon.
being able to customize your trainer maybe selecting what pokemon type is your favorite therefor getting better stats for that pokemon type.
leveling up your trainer getting better capturing abilities or upgrading any attributes like stealth or something being able to sneak up on pokemon.
choosing being good or evil pokemon trainer then your pokemon taking up the same moral.
maybe becoming an actual gym leader.
being able to free roam to do anything you want rather than having to follow the story the whole time.
i think there are so many possibilities for a 3d pokemon rpg on wii it would be awesome
I really hope they make a game thats just like the gameboy games, but obvously with wii graphics. You can throw a pokeball and all that shit. it would be awesome! new region and pokemon would be nice also!
Awesome!!!!!!!!
that would be soo awsome, they should do a real hard out 3d on set in sinnoh where you are a pokemon trainer, also being able to run, jump and see wild pokemonin trees and stuff
I agree ive been thinking of this for years!! they NEED to bring something like this out.. that would be a dream come true i know that sounds lame but pokemon games are the best and if it came out on the wii in 3d mabye set it up so you can see the pokemon unlike normal pokemon rpg hames like in pokemon snap or like in pokemon ranger that would be awesome too.
Or anouther idea would be to bring out an online game like World of Warcraft.. but pokemon so you could battle people online etc etc :)
*wishes this comes out*
I as a previously avid fan, would love to see some attempt by this developement house at redemption.
This might, or might not be a great step into the future of this series.
I have owned every game, on every nintendo consoles. I even still have my pocket pikachu, But when is this production house going to give us fans that have grown up with the series some gratification.
It seems weve all grown older except this series. As this whole Pokemon phenomenom started Ash was my elder, Though now i feel like i dwarf him in age. There is a time for us all to grow up atleast a little. When Im expecting innovation with each now title, all i see are now monsters and a few more bells and whistles, fundamentally we are all still playing the same basic game.
Pokemon snap was a fan diversion, all of the Stadium esque games, were simply a vehicle to see ones pokemon in full 3d, both iterations of ranger made me feel robbed, not only for the cash i spent, but the time i spent realizing that they were pointless, and finally mystery dungeon was a good honest solid attempt, a step in the right direction, but it was effectively the end of This Franchise’ second strike for me.
This is the third and final strike. I dont know about many of you, but I am sick and tired of action menus, hasnt this company made enough money to pull the stops out and give us what those menus are in place for, ” action”?? I dislike the fact that i have these amazing flying monsters, whom i am the ultimate master to, yet the only places i can go on them is town to town. I dislike the fact that these uber rare monsters, whom i pump hours and hours into acquiring, are nothing more than a moveset, stats, and a digital representation. How come ash is capable of bludgeoning a crab in order to capture it, yet the only thing i am capable of is possibly a few odd things in safari, and throwing pokeballs?? Why on earth do i cap off every game in the exact same attire all the way through?? Why are my gargantuan beasts roars of complete and utter rage, nothing more than tinny soundbites???
When are we gonna catch a clue Pokemon, ole pal??? I am absolutely fed up, and you have to face that you are part of the reason nintendo 64 owners, now have PS3s, or 360s. We have to come to terms that your are very capable of entertaining from the ages or roughly 5 to maybe 11 or 12, but after all, this idea your selling, is universal, and given the right attention, could transverse age barriers.
The final strike, After everything, the years of my devote fanhood, all the countless amounts of cash ive dumped into your brimming pockets, If in fact this ” pokemon Wii RPG( role playing game)” is anything short of a fully 3d world action rpg, with mmo elements, Then I am done, and as for those who still follow this series… have fun reaching the age of 15, and then gl finding another franchise to love…
pokemon rumble has come out now and three new mystery dungeons are coming out later this year(2010)
rumor pokepark for wii
even one were you are the bad guy
they should have it so at the start you can either be a coordinator or trainer and if you pick coordinator you get to decide how the moves look
