Pokemon Platinum Confirmed

The Japanese site for Pokemon Platinum is now live. No word on when the game will appear in the English speaking parts of the world.

- Giratina on the box.
- Volkner no longer gym leader of Sunyshore City
- The Underground is now Wi-Fi enabled
- An island called Battle Island, works in the same manner as the Battle Frontier
- Several new Pokémon ‘forms’ exist in the game; Giratina’s Origin Form, Regigigas’ Sky Form, Shaymin’s Another Form
I expect it will probably be made available in the US in early Spring of 2009.
Making the Underground work via Wi-Fi is either going to result in epic awesomeness or an epic fail. It all depends on how well the game handles it. I know from experience that the Underground can be laggy with everyone in the same room so I have to hope that they will work the bugs out for the new version. It also begs the question as to whether or not Diamond and Pearl will be able to connect to a copy of Platinum in the Underground.
I am greatly looking forward to the new Battle Island. I was greatly disappointed when the Battle Frontier did not make it into Diamond and Pearl. Yeah Battle Tower is cool and all but I miss all the options that the Battle Frontier provided.

That is incredible! So does this make these the first legendaries with evolution forms? Or is this more like Deoxys Speed form, Attack form etc?

that would be cool to have legendary evolution. I was surprised when I heard that manaphy can breed. Even if its not manaphy, that was still cool.

It looks cool, but I’m just not willing to support a game that corrects missing elements from a previous set of games that, as it stands, came out after Emerald did exactly the same thing for Ruby and Sapphire. Just seems like the same old tactics… while I realize that Pokemon is a cash cow, and will be milked for all it’s worth, I wouldn’t mind if they at least had some more refreshing excuses for rehashing Diamond and Pearl. I guess I was just too hopeful for Gold/Silver re-makes (wow, I’m a hyporcite).

The battle frontier isn’t included because it’s a part of Hoenn, which is unaccessable in the fourth generation.

i got diamond,pearl,and platinum.I have all the pokemon games from when they first came out.and guess what im a girl. im even going to order the ones in japanese to keep with me. like i told every body else im the champion of pokemon.
