Pokemon Farming: Pichu

Continuing our Pokefarm Baby Week Kickoff, today’s Farmer’s Market Special is that lovable little Electric-type that grows up into arguably the most famous Pokemon ever, Pichu!
Pichu has the distinction of being among the first group of pre-evolutions when they were introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver (along with Cleffa, Igglybuff, Elekid and Magby). His stats and moves are nothing to write home about, at least not until he evolves into Pikachu through a Friendship evolution.
Pichu is fairly easy to come across: being a baby, he can’t breed, but you can breed a Pikachu to get one, or you can catch one in the wild (in the Trophy Garden in Diamond and Pearl).
However, the Pichu that I am offering today is NOT your typical (Trophy)garden-variety Pichu; this one comes with the other-wise unobtainable egg-move Volt Tackle. The only way to get that move is to breed a Pikachu holding a rare item called a Light Ball, and that’s exactly what I did for you today.
The Light Ball is pretty hard to get a hold of, and if you do get one, you then have to go through the process of breeding and hatching and what-not. Instead of going through all of that, I did it for you, and instead here is all you need to do:
- Leave a comment with your trainer name and friend code. I’ve had to dump most of my pal pad, so more than likely I will need your info again.
- Have something to trade. I will take anything, but I’m still filling my ‘dex so I prefer non-Sinnoh Pokemon. Also, they don’t need to be holding anything, but I will always take any item you might have to offer, and if you have any berries I need I will gladly take them! I need berry #’s 59-64.
- Be in the Wifi Union Room by 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central time on August 9, 2007, and be waiting in Trade Mode (Invite -> Trade). I will come to you when I’m ready.
- My information is as follows: Trainer name – Bott, Friend Code – 2320 2629 3165.
- Feel free to check in early, I will be early if I am able.

Sorry it was only an unown. I’m working breeding some of the starters and sapphire pokemon in return for your awesome farmed pokemon. Plus I did a lot of trading today and wasnt left with many non-sinnoh that weren’t eggs, and I didnt know which was which. Did I ramble there? Oops.
LOL, it’s cool! Believe it or not, your Unown did help, I eventually want to collect them all, and the ‘N’ that you gave me is one that I’m missing. It doesn’t seem like much, but it does help and I do appreciate it! Hope you like your Pichu, and thanks again!
You know that when you get all 6 types of unown (F,R,I,E,N,D) in the ruins at solaceon and show them all to the boy that lives in the house next to the ruins, he’ll give you seals that correspond with that unown’s letter shape? So you can make a seal, that when it explodes, says FRIEND!
Really? With your ‘N’ I think I have all of them now, so i’ll have to check that out! You’re talking about the house that’s kinda off to the side of the town, right? Kinda between the town and the entrance to the ruins?

Your quite welcome! Volt Tackle is an amazing move, but yo do have to be a bit careful with it, it has some recoil. If you have the extra HP, however, the move can be devastating to your opponent!

I was going to the Suprise but I came in to late.
Other than the Surprise thing, which was a surprise to me as well!, there’s nothing being farmed today – BryGuy is on vacation this week. We are, however, trying something different this week and Whit will be farming something out tomorrow, Saturday. It’s our first Saturday farming, and we want to see how well it works. Because of it, though, there’s nothing going on tonight.
Oh.But they should move the time for tomorrow.

I’m not sure what time he’s doing it tomorrow, but I don’t think it’s going to be in the evening. I think he’s planning on having it earlier in the day – part of the reason for the Saturday is to try and help accomodate the Europeans who just got Diamond and Pearl and who want in on our farming events but say that the times we hold them are way too late in the night for them (7:00 pm here is like midnight or thereabouts in England). So, we’re trying the Saturday thing,partly for them, partly for other people who have a hard time coming in the evening. I imagine it’ll be sometime in the afternoon or so, but I don’t know for sure yet. Whit has a post about it pokefarm.com right now, he might announce the time later today.

Depending on how well this goes, we’ll probably be making Saturday a permanent thing, so we’ll see what happens! If we do make Saturday permanent, though, it means that there’ll probably be one night during the week, other than Sunday, where there’s no farming event, but that could eventually change as well. Right now it’s staying at 5 nights a week, only one of the nights is being moved to Saturday. This week and next week there may only be 4 events though, as one farmer is out of town this week and another will be out of town next week. After that it’ll be back to normal though!

If you want to, you can go ahead and post your own thing on the forum, announcing any trades you might have. As for using this site, it takes a few days to get it setup and, as it is, it’s reserved solely for the farmers. You’re always welcome to use the forums though!

LOL, yup, I usually give out berries with my trades. It’s a tradition I picked up from HMTKSteve – all the trades I got from him, before I joined as a farmer – all had higher-level berries, and so I’m doing the same thing, trying to help people out with their berry collections with higher-numbered berries.
Diamond, I’m glad we were able to meet up today, I hope you enjoy both the Pichu and the Chikorita! I gave them both better-than-average movesets so that they’ll be good to go right from the start. Thanks and enjoy!

Yeah, I usually include berries with all of my trades so, yes, the Pichu was meant to have a berry. HMTKSteve did it all the time before I was a farmer, and I picked it up from him. He helped me big time with my berry collection, so now I’m hoping to do the same for people. Yes, I do like the pokemon you traded me, thanks much for them, especially the Cranidos!
