Haunted Halloween Farming: Rotom
October 29, 2008 | 64 Comments

I was watching TV late one night and all of a sudden weird things started happening.
CRASH
“What in the world was that,” I muttered to myself as I went outside to see if there was any damage. “A Thunderbolt (Electric STAB, Power 95, Acc 100) must have hit the house.”
When I returned in the house I noticed the television was showing nothing but static. “Turn the TV off boys and go to bed. The lightning must have knocked out the cable.”
“They’re here,” the boys replied in unison.
“What are talking about? Now shut off that TV, it’s only static anyhow.”
“The Rotoms are here,” they eerily replied.
Just then a Shadow Ball (Ghost, STAB, Power 80, Acc 100) whizzed by my head. “What in the …, it’s a good thing that didn’t hit me or it could have lowered my Special Defenses.”
Suddenly the fan whirred to life behind me. I walked into the kitchen to turn it off when the refrigerator doors suddenly flew open. I quickly backed up only to have the oven flash on and open its door.
“I know how to take care of electricity. I’ll just ground it.”
“It won’t work,” the boys replied, “Rotoms have the ability to Levitate and are immune to ground attacks.”
“What sort of Hidden Power is causing this,” I wondered aloud. I grabbed the boys and ran out the back only to be greeted by the washing machine starting on its own. As we were leaving the house I heard the Dark Pulse (Dark, Power 80, Acc 100) of the lawn mower roaring to life and we hurried away from the house as fast as we could. Looking back at the flashing lights within the house, even though I have a Modest (+ SpAtt, -Att) nature, I thought to myself, “Man that paint job sure makes the house look better.”
When we returned the next day the house appeared normal. No mysterious appliances running amok.
“Where are they boys? Can you tell?”, I asked.
“They’ve gone into the wifi. But they’ll be back”
“When?”
Thursday, October 30th at 4-6 PM CST (5-7 PM Eastern, 2-4 PM Pacific time, 9PM British)
If you have a unearthly desire to see these shocking sights for yourself, be in the wifi room to receive your very own Rotom holding a special Halloween treat.

Haunted Halloween Farming: Spiritomb

Curse of the Spiritomb
![]()
“Don’t go in the temple.” the villagers warned. “There is an ancient curse that plague all those who enter”
“Ha! Ancient curses are a lot mumbo jumbo,” I thought to myself. After all, I don’t pay much attention to those superstitions.
After months of digging underground in the nearby tunnels I came across an Odd Keystone and after careful scrutiny, I was able to determine that it was the missing piece to unlock the secrets of the ancient temple. I cautiously placed the Odd Keystone on the temple’s dilapidated altar table and waited to see what would happen.
Slowly the table began to sink into the floor and a loud rumbling sound came from behind me as the wall of the temple moved to reveal a hidden passageway. I crept stealthily through the dusty passage using my torch to knock down the massive network of sticky webs left there by grossly enormous spiders. Finally I came to the end of the hidden path and entered a large open area where the object of my quest waited for me.
It was Spiritomb, the forbidden pokemon. This dark, ghostly spirit glowed menacingly in the middle of the room and immediately I felt the Pressure of his presence. I noticed every move that I made took twice the effort (and PP) than before.
A Will-o-wisp of fire burst from him igniting the torches placed around the chamber and the searing heat burned me and cut my attack in half. Normal and fighting moves had no effect on the ghostly beast and his dark nature made him immune to any Psychic attacks that I might utilize. In fact, due to its typing, there are no super-effective moves to try a deal with this phantasm quickly and my burn was slowly and steadily sapping my own HP.
The Dark Pulse (Dark, STAB, Power 80, Acc 100) emanating from him caused even more damage to me, which also made me flinch 20% of the time. I was gradually lowering his HP, but mine was getting dangerously low.
Luckily, I had some MooMoo Milk to drink to replenish my loss. To my surprise the Spiritomb used Pain Split and used my HP gain to his advantage. It was as if our HPs were added together and shared equally.
I was running out of time, but speed was to my advantage for the Spiritomb was relatively slow in his movements. Just as I was sure I had the upper hand, a Shadow Sneak (Ghost, STAB Power 40, Acc 100) hit me before I could move. I finally threw a dusk ball from my pack and watched the specter roll back and forth in the ball until it came quietly to rest.
When I showed the villagers the pokemon that they had all came to fear, they rewarded me with a strange berry they had found in the jungle. They said it was the rare and elusive Enigma Berry and when I asked what it did they told me that it increases your HP if you are hit by a super-effective attack.
“But never give it to a Spiritomb,” they laughed forebodingly. “It will do no good, for no attacks are super-effective against the curse of the temple.
If you wish to be haunted by this ancient curse, you don’t need to toil in the underground and face the dangers of the temple. Just meet me in the wifi room on Friday, October 24 at 8 pm Eastern (5 PM Pacific) and you will receive your very own Spiritomb holding an Enigma berry. I don’t really need anything in return but I do appreciate any item or berry that you will trade to me.

EEEEEEEEEEEEK!
The shrill screech reverberated throughout the forest
As I called back my fainted Starmie, nana nettie’s words of warning echoed in my mind. “Be careful in the forest. There are a lot of hazards there, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes and plant pokémon that will Wrap you and Leech Seed away all your HP.”
I remembered chuckling and reassuring her that I had my team of Rapid Spinners and I was only going into the forest for a little while to look for mushrooms and rare berries and for her not to worry. The Shadow Ball (Ghost, STAB Power 80, Acc 100) came out of the darkness of the forest and hit my Starmie before I could do anything but rapid spin the first hazard.
I tried to keep a Calm Mind (raises both Special Attack and Special Defense one stage, 50%), but I could sense its ghostly presence even before the next screech rung through the forest. I called out my Tentacruel knowing that it could knock away the Toxic Spikes before me but as soon as it showed up a Psychic (Psychic, Power 90, Acc 100) attack knocked it down and lowered its special defense.
I called on my Blastoise only to have it struck by a Thunderbolt (Electric, Power 95, Acc 100). I knew my Kabutops or Cloyster would not fare much better. Hitmontop would not survive a psychic attack nor would my Claydoll be able to absorb a Shadow Ball from this malevolent being.
I was left with only one spinner, my trusty Donphan. Its rapid spinning had no effect on this Ghostly specter so I commanded him to let loose one of his powerful Earthquakes. To my surprise it had no effect on it either. The being seemed to Levitate in midair.
It apparated before me to finally reveal itself to be a Misdreavus and it cackled another screech and said “Not be Modest (+ SpAttack, -Attack) but if I could only get a Dusk Stone, I could then learn Energy Ball and even your Donphan would not survive.”
Well, I just happen to have some of these Dusk Stones and if you would like one of these mysterious phantom pokemon, be in the wifi room on Wednesday October 21st at 5:30 PM Pacific time (8:30 PM Eastern time)

Pokemon Farming!: Houndour
October 17, 2008 | 55 Comments
![]()
Houndour is an often over looked pokemon of the fire and dark typing. It’s known for their tenacity and team work, Houndour are a useful member of any team. At level 24 Houndour evolves into the eerie Houndoom. Houndoom is a great member of any team. With the ability to absorb and power itself up with enemy fire attacks, Houndoom works well for forcing choiced opponents stuck on a fire attack to switch out, giving it the opportunity to boost it’s stat. With Nasty Plot in it’s arsenal it poses a threat even to the queen of special walling, Blissey. So, the Houndour I have for you today are Timid(attack-, speed+) with the following move set:
Nasty Plot: Raises Houndour’s special attack by two stages.
Flamethrower: A powerful STAB with a base power of 95 and a 10% chance of burning your opponent.
Dark Pulse: A secondary STAB, with a bonus of a 20% flinch rate.
Counter: A retaliation move that inflicts double the damage taken from any physical attack.
Ability:
Flash Fire: When hit by a fire attack(Will-o-wisp included) Houndour’s fire attacks will recieve a 1.5 boost
Rules:
Post your name and FC (even if we’ve traded before I will need it again)
Only 1 Pokémon per person
If you prefer a particular gender or ability tell me, this is on the first come first serve basis.
Please do not trade me eggs

Boogidy! Boogidy! Ewwww!
October 10, 2008 | 29 Comments
Come one, come all! Today starts off the first event of the Halloween season! Today’s pokemon is one the most death defying, blobifying, stinktifying, sickifying and purplifiying pokemon out there. His stench alone can KO a Garchomp from 2 miles away. A clamperl can’t clinch tight enough to keep ‘em from seeping in between their shells and grass pokemon whither in his wake. Yes, this pokemon is the one, the only, Griiiiiimer!
![]()
Imagine the look on your opponent and his/her pokemon when you whip this guy out in battle. When evolved to Muk and with its careful nature (+Sp Def, -Sp Att), its already strong base sp. def. of 100 (85th percentile) is upped to help provide a good special wall against those who want to bash you. But that’s not all, you also get one of the top HP pokemon with a base of 105 (93rd percentile) and very solid attack pokemon with a base of 105 (85th percentile) making him a slippery slime to take down.
His move set only enhances his grungy appearance.
Acid Armor – With his weaker defensive stat a lot of pokemon are going to be thinking of pulling the old switcheroo to a attack oriented pokemon. Acid armor will help to add some back bone to him and double up his defense to help survive future hits.
Poison Jab – Has a 100% chance to hit a pokmon with 80 power, STABed. Add in the 30% chance to poison someone and you got yourself a pretty good slim slinging move.
Shadow Sneak – Helps to fling the ooze at your opponents, first. With its good attack stat, you can do some solid damage to them before they know whats going on.
Explosion – When your just about down and out, why not take ‘em with you? A solid 250 powered attack will do some damage to the opposition but causes you to faint from your own stench.
Enjoy this blob of a pokemon!

(sno)Runt of the Litter
October 4, 2008 | 21 Comments

Being a runt doesn’t always mean your weak.
These snorunts will evolve at level 42 into the mighty ice pokemon known as Glalie. With all of his stats even, there’s no true statistical weakness. Take into account a Bold (+def, -att) nature, their defense will be pumped up to help them take hits and do some damage. All these guys will have the ability Ice Body which allows them to recover HP in hailstorms, making it a great addition to a hailstorm team.
The move set is below:
Substitute – protect yourself a bit with a little toy
Protect – protects your sub and allows you to recover some life from the hailstorm you switch into.
Spikes – with Flying and Dragon types afraid of you, why not make an obstacle that hurts all the others?
Blizzard- nothing like a STABed 120 power move that has 100% accuracy in the hail.
Rules:
- Please leave your name and friend code in a post below.
