Pokemon Tournaments
August 17, 2007 | 30 Comments
No, there is no farming tonight. Instead I want to ask a question.
How many of you would be interested in taking part in a Pokemon tournament via Wi-Fi?
How many of you also have the new Pokemon Battle Revolution game?
I would like to begin running a monthly tournament but I would prefer to use the Wi game because it has better checking for hacked Pokemon.
Prizes? Yes, there would be prizes. Rare Pokemon, rare un-breedable Pokemon to be precise. 100% legit rare un-breedable Pokemon no less.
If you are interested let us know in the comments!
Pokemon Farming: Zangoose
August 16, 2007 | 81 Comments
Welcome to today’s Farmer’s Choice: Zangoose!
For my choice today I chose Zangoose. I chose this one for several reasons. One of the reasons is the fact that Zangoose is one of the better Normal types around, with great Attack and solid Speed stats, an ability that prevents it from being poisoned, not to mention its ability to learn a good variety of move types, including Bug, Dark and Fighting (great for going against other Normal types!). I also chose this one as I’ve been getting quite a few requests for it over on the forums, so I thought “What better Poke to farm than one that everyone is asking for anyways”? :)
Normally Zangoose is rather difficult to obtain. You can either catch it in Ruby at Route 114 and migrate it in through the Pal Park (which a lot of people don’t have yet, as you can only use the Pal Park once the Elite Four have been defeated), you can Snag it in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (and there’s only one available in the entire game), or if you have Ruby inserted into the GBA slot, you can find it on Route 208. Seeing as there’s a lot of people who don’t have a copy of Ruby, that means there’s a lot of people who are out of luck with this one. Until now.
As a public service to those who want it, you now can obtain it without the benefit of Ruby, and without the benefit of a Game Cube. How? Simple: from me! And here is all you need to do:
All you need to do (catchy, no?):
- Leave a comment below with your trainer info. I have had to clean out my pal pad, so for most of you I will need your info!
- Have something to trade. I will take absolutely anything, but I am still working on my National ‘dex, so I do prefer Non-Sinnoh Pokemon. Also, items are not necessary but will be happily accepted. I’m still trying to collect all the berries and I really need berry #’s 59, 61-64.
- Be in the Wifi room at 8:00 EDT/7:00 CDT and be in Trade Mode (Invite -> Trade). I will come to you when I’m ready.
- My info is: Trainer name – Bott, FC – 2320 2629 3165.
I look forward to seeing you all tonight!
Pokemon Farming: Munchlax
August 15, 2007 | 81 Comments
This week’s theme for Farmers Market is Farmers Choice!
You may have noticed a drop in farming events, sorry about that, but two members of the farming team are taking a break from the fields and won’t be around this week. We farm on without them!
Today, I’ve chosen to farm Munchlax, the Big Eater Pokemon! He is the baby
form of Snorlax, an original from back in Red/Blue days who, thanks to his high HP, could take a beating and could also deal out a good punch or two.
Munchlax in D/P is one of the ‘Sweet Honey Tree’ Pokemon, and one of the rarest. So the trouble of getting him is a tough one, unless you bring a Snorlax down from The FR/LG games and breed it with the ‘Full Incense’ attached. He evolves into Snorlax by maxing out his happiness and then leveling him up. Nothing easy about getting this little gem, except for today, ’cause I’m handing him out!
To get this hungry fella, here’s what you do
- Comment with your Name and Friend Code
- Even if we have traded before, I need your information again!
- Get a Pokemon to trade (preferably non-sinnoh, though I will take anything, items are always appreciated. If anyone has a Sableye to spare though, I’m looking for one!)
- Be in the Wi-Fi zone between 6:30pm-7:30pm EDT on August 15 (Wednesday)
- Make yourself available to Trade (Invite–>Trade) I will come to you when I’m ready.
My Information:
Trainer name: God
Friend Code:5369 6895 7194
See you all tonight!
Hatching Eggs: The Fast and Easy Way!
August 14, 2007 | 25 Comments
So you have a big batch of Piplup eggs you’re itching to share with friends or use for a bargaining chip in a trade. Hatching the eggs is simple, just walk around with the egg in your party until it hatches. In normal game play that can take what seems forever, but as Pro Egg Hatchers, we farmers have all the tips to get those eggs hatched in the simplest, easiest way.
First off, you know you have to do some stepping to get results, some 5,000 to hatch one little Piplup egg. Some eggs even take upwards of 10,000 steps to hatch. You can cut this step count in HALF by having a Poke just in your party at the same time as the eggs with one of two abilities:
Magma Armor – Prevents Pokemon from getting a Freeze condition
Flame Body – Afflicts opponent Pokemon with a Burn condition 30% of the
time when it attacks Pokemon directly
These guys act kind of like an incubator. These include

- Magby/Magmar/Magmortar (Flame Body)
- Slugma/Magcargo(Flame Body or Magma Armor)
- Camelrupt (Magma Armor) *it can also have Solid Rock as an ability so double check for the right one
Now, if you want to knock down a big batch of eggs fast you can’t really do it in normal game play, you need to get a lot of steps done in an efficient manner. One way is to hop on down to Solaceon town with your incubator of your choice, jump on your bike, set it to the ‘fast’ gear and work your way up and down route 210 and 209, until you are stopped by a line of trees or a mountain. If you lined it up right you should go up two of the muddy ramps and walked about 123 steps.
Another trick for a lot of steps fast is go to Fuego Ironworks, where you walk on tiles that send you places. There are certain tiles that send you back against a wall, so if you set it up right, you can just press the d pad toward the direction of the tile that will send you back to a wall for as long as you press it, racking up steps. You can just tape down the button and leave the game alone if you like, and wait for the hatching! (This is really nice for when you want to raise happiness too!)
So, with these tips in hand, you should be able to churn out babies like the best of us!
Thanks to Farmer Bott for lending some good info on the abilities!
Welcome New Readers!
August 13, 2007 | 10 Comments
Greetings!
I wanted to take some time today to welcome all of the new readers to our site at Pokefarm.com! You have found us in the beginning of what will hopefully be a long stretch of providing the best lil Pokemon around!
If you are newer to the site, today I’m going to go through the basics of taking part in our farming each day.
On most weekdays, and some Saturdays one of our farmers will offer a Pokemon that they’ve spent time breeding for any who want it. All information about the lil guys will be found right here where this article is now. Directions will be included in the post, however I’d like to go over the basics now. Generally speaking, here is what you’d need to do in order to take advantage of the farming session on a given day.
Respond!
We can’t give you a Pokemon if we don’t know you want one! Post a comment to the article for the poke you’re wanting letting us know and providing your trainer name and friend code. Keep in mind that the first time you comment it will not show up immediately. We have it set up so that the first comment from each person is moderated, and one of the farmers needs to approve it before it’ll show. This is usually checked throughout the day and will definitely be checked prior to any event, so be patient with us there if you don’t see your comment right away.
Wait!
Wait until the time listed in the article. We try to be pretty consistent with the time, but there are some differences so make sure you know when the event is happening. During this time you’ll need to enter the farmer’s information into your Pal Pad.
Connect!
When the time is right, log onto your wifi connection and when you connect hit A on ‘Invite’ and then choose ‘Trade’. This will let us know that you’re ready to do business. As far as the pokemon we accept there are no real limitations. Some of us will have preferences, however there are rarely any hard set rules.
Trade!
We will contact you when you come up in the list and approach you for the trade. When the trade screen comes up, a lot of farmers have their sound turned up, so feel free to try the voice chat function. This will be helpful in choosing between Pokemon with different names or between male and female.
Enjoy!
Once the trade is complete all you need to do is enjoy the new member of your team!
That’s not where it ends though, thats only half the fun! We also have a forum up and running to help facilitate all of you meeting each other and setting up additional trades. That site can be found at: http://forum.pokefarm.com There are currently over 50 people signed up at these forums and everyone is looking for something different, surely something will interest you!
That brings us to the end of my tutorial today. Hopefully I’ve answered any questions that you had if you haven’t joined us for an event yet, or even for those who have shown up a couple times.
I hope to see you at my next event!
Pokemon Farming: Saturday Edition
August 10, 2007 | 52 Comments
Hello there!
Hopefully I’m reaching plenty of new folks with this post! This new weekend version of Pokemon farming is being done for two reasons.
- We’ve had a lot of requests for different timezones from our European visitor base.
- My schedule has changed that this is the only day I’m able to farm.
Lucky for you who are able to respond to this on both accounts! It seemed like a perfect fit, so here we are.
First, a couple things about the weekend farming. I’m going to try and stick with whatever theme was done the previous week, which means that yes, I’ll be offering a baby Pokemon today. Also, the time may change slightly from week to week depending on the feedback I get from those who will quickly become Saturday regulars, so that I can get a feel for what works and what doesn’t.
Now, down to business.
I’ll be offering Togepi today. Togepi has the distinction of being the very first in-game egg ever given to a player as they played through the Gold/Silver/Crystal versions of the game. He has also been given a brand new evolution that offers some superb stats in both special attack and special defense! This is one where its kinda hard to get the right moves naturally, so you’ll be relying on TM’s quite a bit with this guy. I think that’s pretty much the only downside. Togekiss has a very unique look and some real possibilities which can quickly become a mainstay in most teams.
The Togepis that I’ll be handing out today are pretty basic and bland, but all of you armchair quarterbacks will be pleased as they’ve all been named after NFL Teams. I mean, he does kind of look like a little football, right? (American Football that is)
I hope you enjoy my addition to Baby week, and I hope to see many of you in the future on Saturday!
Here’s to a good turnout!!
- Leave a comment with your trainer name and friend code. I’ve had to dump most of my pal pad, so more than likely I will need your info again.
- Have something to trade. I will take anything, but I’m still filling my ‘dex so I prefer non-Sinnoh Pokemon. Also, they don’t need to be holding anything, but I will always take any item you might have to offer, especially evolution stones.
- Be in the Wifi Union Room by 3:00 Eastern/2:00 Central time on August 11, 2007, and be waiting in Trade Mode (Invite -> Trade). I will come to you when I’m ready.
- My information is as follows: Trainer name – Whit, Friend Code – 3136-3364-7333.
- Feel free to check in early, I will be early if I am able.
Pokemon Surprise Trade Session!
August 10, 2007 | 34 Comments
This is a surprise trade offer!
The first six trainers to respond to this offer will get one of these amazing Pokemon!
1. Moltres – lvl 50
2. Deoxys – lvl 24
3. Mew – lvl 100
4. Deoxys – lvl 100
5. Mew – lvl 3
6. Charmander – lvl 1
I will not vouch for the legality of these Pokemon as I have received most of these via trades. I do know the Moltres is 100% legit as I caught it myself in my Leaf Green game and brought is over via the Pal Park. The Charmander is also 100% legit as I hatched it myself.
So, if you want one of these six Pokemon you must leave a comment below with your trainer name and information. I will be back in 30 minutes to see how many takers we have. After that I will lock the comments on this article and put them back in my box.
Why am I doing this? Because I have too many Pokemon in my boxes and I can’t make myself delete these guys! So please trade me something like a Bidoof or Starly because I have no problem deleting them from my box!!!

Pokemon Farming: It’s All for the Euros
August 10, 2007 | 22 Comments

Greetings
I wanted to make sure this was announced with plenty of notice. Tomorrow I will be hosting my farming event. That’s right, on a Saturday! This is in an effort to accommodate some of our European visitors when the timezones don’t match up nicely. I will be holding the event at 3:00 PM Eastern (2:00 PM Central US).
This doesn’t limit who can participate by any means, everyone is welcome as always. Due to schedules, we’re hoping that the weekend will help those who normally aren’t able to participate. Since this is new ground, I also want to get a feel for times that work on Saturdays, so if you are reading from Europe and want to suggest some times that generally work well, feel free to list them. I can’t guarantee they’ll be followed to the letter, but I’ll do my best!
Until then, I’ll see you tomorrow!

Pokemon Farming: Pichu
August 9, 2007 | 129 Comments
Continuing our Pokefarm Baby Week Kickoff, today’s Farmer’s Market Special is that lovable little Electric-type that grows up into arguably the most famous Pokemon ever, Pichu!
Pichu has the distinction of being among the first group of pre-evolutions when they were introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver (along with Cleffa, Igglybuff, Elekid and Magby). His stats and moves are nothing to write home about, at least not until he evolves into Pikachu through a Friendship evolution.
Pichu is fairly easy to come across: being a baby, he can’t breed, but you can breed a Pikachu to get one, or you can catch one in the wild (in the Trophy Garden in Diamond and Pearl).
However, the Pichu that I am offering today is NOT your typical (Trophy)garden-variety Pichu; this one comes with the other-wise unobtainable egg-move Volt Tackle. The only way to get that move is to breed a Pikachu holding a rare item called a Light Ball, and that’s exactly what I did for you today.
The Light Ball is pretty hard to get a hold of, and if you do get one, you then have to go through the process of breeding and hatching and what-not. Instead of going through all of that, I did it for you, and instead here is all you need to do:
- Leave a comment with your trainer name and friend code. I’ve had to dump most of my pal pad, so more than likely I will need your info again.
- Have something to trade. I will take anything, but I’m still filling my ‘dex so I prefer non-Sinnoh Pokemon. Also, they don’t need to be holding anything, but I will always take any item you might have to offer, and if you have any berries I need I will gladly take them! I need berry #’s 59-64.
- Be in the Wifi Union Room by 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central time on August 9, 2007, and be waiting in Trade Mode (Invite -> Trade). I will come to you when I’m ready.
- My information is as follows: Trainer name – Bott, Friend Code – 2320 2629 3165.
- Feel free to check in early, I will be early if I am able.
I can’t wait to see all of you here tonight, and thank you all for making this new site possible, we couldn’t have done it without you! See you tonight :)
PokeFarm: Forum News
August 7, 2007 | 20 Comments

Previously – some of you have participated in discussions on the forums that were designed to go along with the Pokemon Farming at hmtk.com. I’d like to first thank those of you whose interests go a bit beyond the casual reader of the farming articles and have taken time to participate fully in our community. I urge others to do the same, as we have a LOT planned for pokefarm.com; not the least of which is continuing to farm great Pokemon.
As you may have noticed the farming aspect has split completely away from HMTK, and as such, so have the forums. We now have a new forum established at forum.pokefarm.com which will continue to see improvements as time allows. Hopefully soon you will see that the theme will closely resemble this home page in color scheme and graphic nature.
You’ll also notice that your old logins won’t work on this new forum. Due to problems we had on the old format, we’ve decided to go with a completely clean slate. What does that mean?
- You’ll have to create a new account.
- You’ll have a chance to designate your favorite pokemon as your avatar.
- Private messages WORK! *woohoo*
- Streamlined forums and active forum management personnel.
Here are some of the things we plan on doing on the forums specifically. (If I learn enough php to pull it off)
- Special Trainer Name and Friend Code fields for easy battling/trading
- Layout to match that of pokefarm.com
- Avatars to include all 493 Pokemon
- Keep a tight knight and mature management team who genuinely upkeep the site only because they love the Pokaymons.
So please, create an account at the forum site linked at the top of this page if you’d like a little more insight to our world or have any suggestions at all. For those of you who don’t know, the following members are the staff at the forums.
- HMTKSteve – Creator, originator, and owner of pokefarm.com AND hmtk.com
- RoBottnick – Farmer, forum moderator
- TheTaterTot – Farmer, forum moderator
- BryGuy – Farmer, forum moderator
- Whitdjinn – Farmer, forum maintenance and theme conversion
There is plenty of space on the forums for any questions or suggestions so please don’t be shy about posting it, we’re doing this site for you, we want to be sure it keeps your interest as well as ours!
Enjoy!
